Panelists: Patrick Keilty, iSchool Faculty and Courtney Scott, MI student
Patrick Keilty is Assistant Professor in the Faculty of Information at the University of Toronto and Instructor in the Bonham Centre for Sexual Diversity Studies. He holds a PhD in Information Studies, concentration in Women’s Studies (now Gender Studies), from the University of California, Los Angeles. He received additional education at the School of Criticism and Theory at Cornell University and the Art Centre College of Design. His writing examines and critiques feminist and queer engagements with digital technology, with particular focus on visual culture, database logic, metadata, phenomenology, and sexual desire.
Courtney Scott is a first year Masters of Information student at the University of Toronto’s Faculty of Information. After six years in the International Baccalaureate Program, she graduated from the University of Toronto with an Honours Bachelor of Arts in history, specializing in the Third Reich and the Second World War. Her current research interests include online misogyny and internet surveillance.
